Much more than just a restaurant, Le Basalte is an ode to the authenticity and excellence of Auvergne gastronomy. Under the enlightened direction of Mathieu, who rose brilliantly from the position of chef de partie at Origines to that of head chef, every bite promises a memorable experience, a gustatory journey like no other.

The 11 charming rooms at the foot of a 14th-century medieval castle offer an immersion in the art of living in Auvergne. Basalt volcanic stone, elegant raw oak and delicate tapestries create cocoons of relaxation, with panoramic views of the Auvergne mountains. The experience is enhanced by a generous, gourmet farmhouse breakfast.
